North Carolina is home to many prestigious, private, liberal arts colleges and universities. Private institutions tend to be smaller than public institutions and the student to professor ratio is usually smaller, thereby providing a closer connection your professors. Many of the institutions offer courses and degrees online in an eLearning environment.
While one of the main missions at North Carolina’s private colleges and universities is to provide a residential experience for students, some independent colleges and universities offer online learning opportunities. These opportunities allow both traditional and non-traditional students the flexibility to take needed courses while maintaining a professional or family schedule.
