The NC Office of State Personnel’s HRD Group offers a number of online courses designed for state and other government employees. Topics cover new hire orientation, compliance topics such as workplace violence awareness, topics for government supervisors such as basics of supervision and effective hiring. Most of these courses are free. Additionally, free live-online sessions are offered in real time with a facilitator; topics are available specifically for supervisors (i.e., “Retaining Talent”); training practitioners (i.e., “Social Media for Trainers”), and general audiences (i.e., “Turning Stress into Power”).
